our 2 year old cat was rushed to vets thursday morning,he had been off his food day before,,,,,anyway ,he went in vets,,seems he had 'stones' blocking his bladder,,they put him straight in for op,,and he is now recovering and is using a catheter,,well they have just rang at 10.10pm,to say we can take him tomorrow if we like, but be careful cos the catheter leaks, and they say that it looks like something has stretched his bladder, cud be a tumour,im just wondering if it cud be something to do wiv when he was neutered,i didnt want to send him to that vets anyway, but it was close and was an emergency, the last time they had one of our animals in there,,they told us the sat night that we cud pick him up the next day, then suddenly he died over night, what im wondering is wether there is anything i can ask or do to find out if this is a c0ck up on their side,,,thnx

Hey electriclue,

Sorry to hear about your cat.

I don't know much about the medical side of things, but thought I would post anyway.

I wouldnt instantly try and find a problem with the vet because something has happened before.

With animals, I know things can happen pretty quickly that can either be good or bad.

18 months ago, one of my cats had 5 kittens, we had to take them to the vet first thing the next morning as K.C (the mum) had left them and their afterbirth and chords had all got tangled.

Took the vets 20 minutes to seperate them, and then had to leave them and mum in the vets. 2 kittens had chords round there legs, and unfortunately, 2 hours before we were due to pick them up, K.C lay on one of the kittens and killed it. We then had a 2nd die a couple of days later after rushing it back to the vets as it could hardly breath, were told to come back in the evening to collect it, but then received a call to say the kitten had died.

However the 2nd kitten who had the chrod round its leg, the leg had pretty much died, gone purple and was 3 times the size it should be. When she was 3 weeks old, we were due to take her back in to have the leg amputated, but that morning I got up, and saw what looked like blood round the leg. I took her back to the vet, and they said that due to the bleeding, the swelling in her leg had reduced, and she no longer needed the operation. We fully expected to have a 3 legged cat, but now cefa is 18 months old and has all 4!

I learnt in a short space of time, that things that can go wrong and lead to very sad times, but at the same time, things can make a change for the better!

That was quite a long waffle, and hope it makes sense and you get what I am trying to say!
