Looks like Im first up again, getting to be a habit now! Ive been awake since about 5:30am and finally given up trying to sleep.

Yep, still in one piece, have 10 days to go until due date so I am really just biding my time now, psychick is due 5 days after me so we have an internet race on to see who will go first! I think she will and I must say I am quite happy to lose! Everything has been fine (more or less) with me so far but the baby just wants chocolate and who am I to deny it!

Ah, I see - so it's something of a race which you'd both be happy to lose !! and if baby wants chocolate, definitely don't say no. Mind you, it could be the Easter Bunny come early when you give birth - I thought my second was going to be a Vit. C capsule, I ate so many oranges in the last few weeks !!

Ive been getting strong regular contractions since about 5:30 this morning, hence not sleeping lol. They seem to be about every 5 minutes and lasting about 40-50 seconds but dont want to call the midwife yet in case they stop again! Although Im at the point Im ready for the tens machine! Ah, sod that, I want an epidural lol

Oh, that is a quandry!!!!! Every 5 mins seems quite regular and often, dont leave it too long before ringing but I understand your concern as they may stop again. Do you have a tens machine, if so, would it do any harm to put it on just in case, if nothing else, just to lessen the pain.

Yes, the tens machine is sat here ready and waiting. So far Im coping (just!) and need to get my daughter off to school in an hour so I might try to keep on as I am and concerntrate on her first. My boyfriend is actually getting ready for work as we speak/type but Ive already warned him I doubt hes going to be going to work today lol

please help out an old fossil - what is a tens machine ? we didn't have them way back when, no epidurals either

Well try to keep yourself busy until she goes to school at least that will take your mind of them (until they happen) then get hooked up. I suspect your boyfriend wont be going too far today!

I have got my fingers crossed for you that this is it as I cant begin to imagine the 'is this or isn't it' thoughts you are going through.

seekeerz, Ive had mild pains since Saturday on and off but nothing like this! My due date is actually 2 weeks from today.
A tnes machine is a pain relief device. You have four pads on your back and the electrodes being passed in through help kick your own endorphins in so your body manages the pain itself without the use of drugs. Thats the theory anyway! lol
