Hi All

We have recently moved house with our 1 year and 1 month old cat. She has had a litter tray indoors until now, but we are going to fit a catflap.

How do we train her to go outside, rather than use her litter tray?

Thanks

Wait until she has got used to using the cat flap (I had to tie mine open for a while before my cat would go through it) then put the litter tray in the garden where you want her to go or just take it away. My cat soon found somewhere else to go to the toilet and doesn't have a litter tray at all
Usually once they have access to natural earth they will do it there automatically.

Thanks for your answers.

Another tip I read somewhere was to spread some cat litter on the earth outside, hopefully they will associate this litter as being another place that thay can go.
Cheers Sue
