Each night 'something' comes and removes my windfall apples and pears . Any ideas please

I'd go along with Ratter on this, its not the sort of thing the larger animals, badgers, Foxes, Squirrels would do, sounds like good old fashioned scrumping to me.
It was once thought that Hedgehogs would roll on windfall apples to get them stuck on their spines and walk off with them. I think its a mythe but I'd like to see it :>)
Deer come into our garden & I've seen them eating windfalls
The identity will be revealed if the fruit starts to ferment... you will find the poor critter with a very bad headache.
Theres an apple tree at work and we see the odd squirrel nipping off with an apple now and again
