Cats Eating Houseplants

We recently rescued 2 young cats and have to keep them inside for a few weeks as per the rehoming instructions. But they eat the houseplants! Has anyone got any ideas as to how to discourage them? I have ready about sprays but reviews for them aren't great. I'd prefer to stay away rom chemically solutions. Would a simple citronella spray work? Moving the houseplants isn't an option as they are quite big and there is no where else to put them.

Be careful, some plants are poisonous to pets - I have a list somewhere so I'll post it when I can find it.
IMO - you'll HAVE to move them, or put some netting round them.
Come on, it can't be *that* difficult!
Hi there,- first of all, cats need to eat some plant material from time to time, in order to clean there stomach. When they are licking themselves clean, they swallow some of the hair and after a while the hair in the stomach will build up.
A cat that is allowed outside is helping herself. She will eat some special types of grass that make her vomit.
If you go to a pet store you should be able to buy some cat grass that you can grow yourself.Your cats should leave your plants alone once you given them the grass as a supplement.
A good clout each time they do it.
Please please please, ignore canary42 because a good clout is what this person needs, if they think this will work and especially if this is how this person treats animals. I really hope canary 42 reads my reply and if he/she wants to know how it feels to be a defenseless animal that depends upon its owner then he/she is more than welcome to meet me and i will give them a good slapping so this person knows how it feels.
I am very sorry if this post has upset anyone but it really does upset me and annoys me when these sort of people say what they do. They obviously have got no idea what it is to have a cat, dog or whatever as a pet/ family member and should not be allowed to have a stick insect. Which would mean they would not be able to breed because i think they are not even worthy of breeding with them, let alone any other living creature and they should be blocked and kicked off this site.
Once again, my apologies if my concerns, compassion, anger at canary42s reply and truthfulness has offended anyone but i really hope canary 42 replies and realizes that a clout is not the answer.
