We took her dressings off a few days back it is all healed really well and she has been out for a few walks with the boys (Gilligan and Merlin) she has been fine so today she was off lead and had a good run and play in the garden, she loved it.

The honey dressings seems to have done the trick, once we applied them she just seem to heal over night.

Thanks to all that gave advice and showed concern :)

She was quite good actually, we did have to put a cone collar on her after she removed and ate a few dressings, the problem with a cone collar that size, she demolishes the house with it and cant get through the doors lol.
Not to mention the fact that Keeva used the cone collar to annoy the boys! If they wouldn't do as she wanted, she bashed them about the head with it. She also loved to sneak up on Gilligan when he was sleeping. She put her nose so close to his that he was woken and startled by the cone, usually making him fall off his favourite armchair and run off! This is how she got to sleep where she wanted to, on the most comfy armchair in the house, lol! She also used it to take toys and food away from the others. When they try to take things back from her, she simply holds the toy on the floor and they can't get to it because of the cone! Smart girl, she is!
Of course she's smarter than the boys Cara!! Aren't all us females smarter than the boys!!!

Good news - no wonder she wanted to eat honey dressings - delicious!!
lottie, honey and gauze on toast ! yum yum !
LOL Anne.

(My dog always helps me eat my honey on toast for breakfast - no gauze though!)
she sounds a lovely character did you take any pics of her causing chaos
I have tried so many times, rowan, but I always seem to get there too late! She stops being naughty as soon as she hears me coming, no matter how quietly I sneak up with the camera, lol!
Lotty, of course I do agree with you! :o)
Good news. I have one with a poorly paw at the moment, she doesnt touch the dressing while I am here, as soon as I go to work she removes it, even though OH is at home. What are the honey dressings?
Jules, sorry to hear your dog has a poorly paw. The honey dressings are called Activon Tuille (Primary wound dressing with Activon honey). The ones I have ar 10x10cm and I used to cut them into four pieces and use one each time. So that it didi not stick to the wound I used a wound protecting mesh called NA Ultra directly on the wound, then the honey dressing, then some gauze, soft cotton wrapping and then vet wrap. If it is an injusry to the paw, it is important not to wrap the wound too tightly, as it will be uncomfortable if it is too tight and then the dog will want it off. Perhaps you can get a cone collar from Pets at Home or your local pet shop and put it on when you have to go out and leave your dog. I did this and also left it on at night, after Keeva ate several bandages, then vomited them up and some was in her poo (yuk!). It can be quite dangerous for them to eat the soiled bandages, as it can spread infection into the gut or block the gut up. So teh cone collar is quite important. I know you can also get the blow up collars, but the dogs can often still get at their paws with those, so I have been told. Hope your dog heals quickly.
Sorry, have got sore hands today so my typing is dreadful!

Many thanks, I am using pad heal at the moment which is doing the trick as long as she doesnt get the dressing off. I am going to get some of the honey dressings as well though. The dogs medicine cabinet is bigger than our own.
