Thinking of starting my greyhound on Evening Primrose Oil to bring up her coat a little. Tesco 'people' brand are about a third of the price of, say, Dorwest, and the only difference I can see that might make a difference is that the people ones have a higher vitamin E content (10mg as opposed to 4mg in the Dorwest ones). Is this likely to harm the dog at all?

Hi, should be fine....just watch her/his poop....you'll soon see if it disagrees with your dog.
I give my Danes the adult does of a few supplements and they do just fine.

We buy most of our supplements from the Horse department, so much cheaper and in larger quantities. we have just started buying treats for horses made from grass and containing Glucosamine and Chondroitin, the dogs love them, the omega oils we buy for about half the price of the doggy stuff from the pet shops, and we make many of their treats and build up foods if they require it by adding molasses also bought from the horse shop. Just be a little careful, just because it is suitable for horses doesn't necessarily mean it is good for dogs.
To be fair though Ratter, your dogs are closer to horses than dogs in a lot of ways :)
lol chuck, we have some miniature horses in a field down the lane I walk every morning, they always come up to the gate to see us, my dogs are actually a bit bigger than a couple of them.

Thanks folks. I actually bought some Johnson's brand from Pets At Home this evening, 90 for just under £3, so not too bad, and judging by the way she guzzled them down i don't think there's going to be very much wastage either.
