why can you not fly in a plane when you have a slow heart beat and waiting for a pacemaker

Any medical condition which can suddenly worsen in mid-air will prevent a passenger from flying. That is why pregnant women beyond a certain term are prevented from flying - who needs a medical emergency thousands of feet in the air with no medical facilities or staff trained beyond basic first aid?
Most insurance companies do not offer travel insurance to those on a hospital waiting list.
