I thought it was just me but two other girls in my office agree that the Cadbury's Happiness Ad's (with the lion, sheep and hyenas) are just plain scary. Anyone else agree? Or even understand them?

It's not just you Natalie, I think they're terrifying, especially the hyena. They're awful and don't make we want the chocolate at all.

I think the lion one is the worst that crawls out from under the bed saying "Forgot about that one didn't you...". Lions weren't meant to be sexy, and certainly weren't meant to sleep in bed with deranged humans that cancel dates with their boyfriends because they want a chocolate bar. Too weird.
I think the whole thing is just too contrived.
Yes, yes, no
yeah agree with you, it doesnt make me wanna go and buy a bar of chocolate i just think the ideas crap and i dont see the point in it!x
They've got to be the sh!test adverts on TV at the moment. I have to turn over when they come on as they wind me up so much. I even thought about writing to Cadbury and asking them to sack their ad agencgy. I'm boycotting Cadbury chocolate until they take them off air.
I Think their quite Good! The lioness one is my favourite just because shes Humming and playing the guitar! The one i HATE the most is the sheep one!!!
I think that the guy in the office who gets whizzed around on a chair by his 'happiness' is even scarier than the animals themselves ! I agree , I hate these adverts and just don't see the point in them. Oh and I think that if I left my friends alone in my garden for a few mins to pop back inside my house and came out to find out that they were sitting with a pack of hyenas AND had scoffed all my choccy , then I would definitely freak out !
I'm a bit puzzled by them myself, but we are all talking about them aren't we. Which is the whole point after all.
The scariest adverts at the moment are the Switch/Maestro ads with the singing penguins! It's those horrid voices and the cheap animation! They're annoying too, when they come on I just want to stick my foot through the telly.
Without a doubt the worst adverts on TV at the moment - they make my blood boil they're so stupid!

I don't know if anyone is still reading this, but the idea is that the animals' faces are similar to the person they appear with. The man with the sheep has big curly hair (like the sheep). The hyenas look like the people's shoulders they come up on. The lion looks like the woman on the bed. They are meant to be their "inner animal" or "happiness".

Took me 3 views before I "got" it. They make sense once you understand what they're getting at... kinda. Sadly, they crossed the fine line between "mysterious" and "obscure" by about 3 miles.

I know what they mean, has anyone read  His Dark materials trilogy by Philip Pullman? In thses books people have part of themselves that  represented by an animal which is called a daemon.. The kind of animal depends on the personlity of the person. Thats what i think these happiness animals are, they are daemons really.

I agree.  I have always associated hyenas with savage pack hunting attacks and scavenging. There is nothing funny or attractive about the animal and to try to draw a positive association with chocolate does not make any sense.  Time fire your ad agency cadbury!  I certainly won't be buying does chocolate or whatever they are advertising.  Disturbing.
