They do just the same in disabled bays, should have let her tyres down.

Most motorists are ignorant or stupid, I have never been able to park my Motorcycle in the M/bike bay at Tescos because there is always cars in it.
No what you do is when you see someone like that loading her car you rush up and say "oh my God! you've left your child inside - Come on I'll help you look!"

I park in those spaces when the disabled bays are full.

I really would not be able to manage in an ordinary bay - I wouldn't be able to get out of the car.
Its interesting that your main concern is the close proximity to the store rather than the added space given which is the real reason that these bays are there for us.

The people that moan about dangerous nasty supermarket car parks are giving most of us parents a bad name.

Personally I think that the incentive for people to park in them is the fact that they are close to the store and if you remove that incentive by providing a safe area for parents and babies at the other side of the car park, then people would not park there.

Lets just live and let live eh? Stop being so petty. You are only talking about an extra 50yd walk, you should be grateful of the exercise!
I dont park in them or disabled spaces but I do get annoyed when the whole carpark is full to capacity and there are 10 empty parent and baby spaces!

I can understand why people do it when there are no other spaces
The answer to your question is because they are lazy, selfish, inconsiderate morons.
i personally cannot understand why they are so close to the shop. children have legs, dont they? And if they dont, or are too young to use them, they are in prams or pushchairs, so why the need to be close? having children is a lifestyle choice, so why should they be right at the front of the shop (in my locals case, they are even closer than the disabled spaces!) As the very sensible person sai before, if they were a long way away ypu wouldnt have to go moaning on about people using them cause noone would! it would do most of todays obese little porkers good to have to walk further!

my little boy is only 5 months old so i use a mum and baby space because baby trolleys are parked right in front of these bays. so its easier for mums that way rather than either having to carry baby over carpark or lock him in car just to get a trolley
I always thought that they were "Parent & Child" bays, not "mum and baby spaces". Where does it give an age limit for a child?
You sound as though you have an attitude problem about an older person driving a Mercedes.
Lighten up.....there's enough hassle on the roads without bringing it into car parks.
i'm with ianess i must confess to using them and my daughter is 13?? i always feel a bit guilty though, but as you say ianess.............. no age limit? and most of us are somebody's child wahtever the age.
why cant you carry him over the carpark? surely he dosent weigh more than a bag of shopping?
Lots of people resent these 'parent and child' spaces. Disabled spaces - fair enuff but where does it all end ? 'Fat lazy slob' spaces, 'Can't be ar5ed walking any distance' spaces ????

why should i carry baby over car park when spaces designated for parent and child are being abused by others i haven't got an atitude problem by the way!!
Fancy having to carry your baby to get a trolley - surely these days the supermarket should see you arrive and bring a trolley for you. Please get a life.

However, other posters have made some good points. The drivers that really pi$$ me off though are those that can't be bothered parking properly - they just park diagonally across two spaces. Anyway I wouldn't dream of parking in a parent and door bashing kiddie space.
Leave astonsmummy alone!!! God if we all moaned about the major things in life we'd all be depressed 24/7! I agree astonsmummy, it annoys me more when it's chucking it down, however I do find making a comment whilst walking past them makes them look embarrassed, maybe you should try that instead.

Yes disabled spaces and parent and child spaces are different, but the parent and child ones are there and are intended to be used by parents with children. Simple. Happy parking people lol

thanks katangel i appreciate that i only started as a mini moan just to put my point across and got a hell of a lot of grief what really annoys me more than parking space hoggers is people who drive at 20-30 mph in a 6o zone grrr !!
I know what you mean. Not sure why the road is full of drivers who can't actually drive. So much for the driving test hey!
lol i guess we will have to agree to disagree on this issue then. i will never support parent and child spaces (mind you, if i had children i may think differently i suppose) and wouldn't give a stuff about parking in one. If you wroe me a rude note i would just laugh because youd had to walk all the way back to your parked a long way away car caryying your child to get a pen and paper!
I'm going to park in them all the more now even when I'm on my own in the remote hope that I use the same supermarket as you.

Lighten up and concentrate on more important issues. I wish that was all I had to worry about.
ha! when i went to waitrose today i parked in one!
