I have a Digifusion fvrt 100 digital video recorder twin tuner ,or in other words a freeview box with a hard disc to record programmes. The thing is it makes a constant whirring sound that is quite loud so i was wondering if any of you helpful people have the same problem or am i right in thinking mine may be faulty?thanks in advance for any help.

Don't have this exact model, but HAve worked with Sony/Panasonic/Sanyo - they all whirr! Cooling Fan required (large processsors) just like your P.C
Got one a year or so ago, and it was very loud. They send updates across the airwaves periodically and one of them made it much quieter but it still whirrs away merrily. Doesn't sound like yours is faulty at all.
I've seen other people mention replacing their fan (once out of guarantee?) with one designed for quieter computers - try googling for this.
