Can't think of one called Whiplash, but there was Rawhide, sung by Frankie Lane, and there were sounds of whips cracking during the song. It was featured in a western on T/V

There was a program (AussieI think) called WHIPLASH. Starred Peter Graves (Original Mission Impossible). Think the opening song is what you mean. Dont know who sang it tho

i dunno about 50's or 60's but metallica did a song called whiplash

If memory serves me I think it was Frank Ifield who was quite popular at the time and had a string of hits. His most popular being I Remember You.
