Can anyone tell me please, why one can no longer buy Macleans toohpaste in shops? I have been to all the big supermarkets , Boots and smaller local chemists, none to be had. I have been been using it since childhood,(a long, long time ago!).I now rely on the internet to purchase it. I do not understand why.

Tesco has it, £1.20, same at Sainsbury's

Tesco, Sainsbury's & Morrisons all stock it.

Others might as well...

Trolley.co.uk, which is usually reliable, is showing Macleans Frsh Mint toothpaste as being available in both Sainsbury's and Tesco, at £1.20, and (in a slightly larger size) in Savers at £1.25.

You can search for your nearest branch of Savers here:
https://www.savers.co.uk/store-finder#search-stores

However the website of the manufacturer, Haleon, doesn't list Macleans among its leading brands:
https://www.haleon.com/our-brands
So it's possible that they've discontinued the product.

Try using this web form to get definitive info from Haleon
https://haleon.support/en-us/general-enquiry
or give them a call on 01932 95 95 00. (Lines are open Mon-Fri from 08:00 to 17:00).

Given the retail price, I'd guess it's one of those products that is no longer fashionable...so it's no longer advertised, and no longer stocked widely. It's always a bad sign when brands get sold on, then sold on again...they usually end up disappearing completely!

I regularly buy Macleans toothpaste from eBay or Amazon. Works out about £8 for 4 tubes. I don't go out to physical shops so don't know if it's for sale in those.

this the sort of thing you had in mind, Barsel?

I would also look in shops like B&M and the pound shops

^^^ It's not listed on the B&M website, Barry (even though other products from Haleon are):
https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/health-and-beauty/dental-care/toothpaste?hitsPerPage=72

I like the whitening one. They're sold in Tescos.

Thank you all for your answers, it must be my local area,(wolverhampton). It is not in Tesco, Morrisons or Sainsbury round here, although I do not do internet shopping through them.

Thank you jno, it's the first time it's done that for me.

calda49. I only shop online at Tesco these days, but have never had a problem getting it from Tesco online.
