I think it is pretty crass too, tigerlily. Let alone the 2 women yesterday - 1 kissed the King (having asked permission first)and the other kissed his hand. Too familiar by far. Falling standards :(
Yes, but that is society these days. When Charles walked the crowds outside Buckingham Palace yesterday, someone went ahead of him and told people to lower their phones as he approached them as they thought it was quite acceptable to shove a phone in his face.
It's a sign of the times. Have mobile phone.......take photo/video for keepsake.....post on social media platforms. Nothing wrong with that apart from the shoving in face part I guess.
At the Accession Ceremony this morning at St James's Palace there was a woman who realised she was on TV and phoned someone on her mobile while looking at said camera. She might as well just put up a banner saying "Hello Mum" Mobiles have turned people into morons.

I suspect that the day after your mum died, you wouldnt have wanted to be consoled by strangers, who were also blatantly recording your responses, or trying to get selfies
