All sounds a bit suspicious to me. How can they possibly know in the vast majority of cases who is "invalid"? I predict that after this process they'll reform the election process again following this omnishambles. ....and yes, I'm still in!

They ask people if they're real Labour supporters and then give them a simple intelligence test.
Anyone who passes is obviously lying.
Haha, yeh ^ or a trick question like "are you really a Labour supporter?
Not sure why you've put the word, cheats, in inverted commas, TTT. Doing so is a literary device to indicate that you are deliberately not using the word in its actual sense; you, however, ARE using the word in its actual sense!
If a Tory or supporter of any other non-Labour party signs up and pays £3.00 to vote in this leadership election, claiming that he "supports the values of the Labour party", then he clearly IS a cheat!

Having said that, I do agree that the set-up is an omnishambles, rather like that early Osborne budget. I'm sure they WILL reform the process.
Was that the Osborne budget that caused the double dip recession or the triple dip recession? (snigger)
Osborne could be getting his chance to shine very soon.
Another Labour thread...I guess there is still no news on any Tory success with the EU then... or anything else for that matter?

why talbot, don't tell me you are not enjoying all the amusement supplied by the Labour party!
I would much rather be reading about how the Tories are putting the Great back into Great Britain.

Alas...
That said, there is a thread here http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question1440835.html Showing how the Tories are encouraging people to show the good old British 'stiff upper lip'...What!

QM, I was quoting the story but it is valid that "cheat" is in quotes because those being weeded out by Labour cannot possibly be reliably identified thus. If they make all the declarations and are in the electoral reg then I cannot see how they can be identified. Though it is arguable that many genuine Labour supporters my not be on the electoral register so even that is iffy, hence "cheat".
Inverted commas

to mark off a word or phrase that’s being discussed, or that’s being directly quoted from somewhere else:

In true Labour style they'll be weeded out then couselled for trauma at being rejected.
It stinks of Harman and her fellow fumblers in the dark. Couldn't find her ass with both hands and a sniffer dog.
Douglas, admirably articulate as always. :o)
The contenders each have one hand on the prize, is that was is meant by 'Claws 4' ?
From what I've gleaned, the 'weeding' process isn't working too well. What a daft set of rules. I suppose they were instigated to collect money - accountants again.

I should explain that I consider the bean-counters to be at the heart of much of the stupidity and evil in the world!
Tora,
You have signed up, so you are in Prime Position to tell us.

They have taken your money, and you have voted for Corbyn.

Has your vote counted?

well gromit I have no communication to tell me I have been weeded out, I don't really know what is going on behind the scenes.
Sometimes it's pretty obvious (even the cat got found out eventually)
And there was a Tory peer who registered(!), Maybe the inbreeding there ...

I doubt actually if the Tory "infiltrators" are making much of a difference.
But the party has to be seen to be making an effort to weed out the cheats no matter who they support
As I said before it is a dumb system.
