The Album is about to be re-released. I saw an ad on telly for it. Some of the tracks are great, like Justin haywards - Forever Autumn, but in the main, it does drag on a bit.

I believe the original album came out about '78 / '79. It features David Essex, Jeff Wayne, Justin Hayward (Ex Moody Blues) Amongst others along with a narrative from Richard Burton.

I think I'm gettin' Old.

What this thread is about is the new  Steven Spielberg Film "War Of The Worlds" with the soundtrack composed  by  John Williams. There is a trailer on the TV  - What is that music?

The Jeff Wayne Musical version has be re-released as a mega Box set and superaudio 2 CD version. It is not in the film.

Don't worry Personica, I am 23 and I have the Jeff Wayne album - its funky.

23 isn't old is it? Help!!!

Cheers Chazza, I needed that.

Kwillmot. True, a new film is to be released, but I believe the music for the ad, as TheRedMax says, is from the 70's album.

If you are thinking of the song used in some adverts for the film, it's the same song used in "28 Days Later":

John Murphy - In The House In A Heartbeat

You are brilliant! So its John Murphy... This has been bugging me for ages - knew i had heard it somewhere and kept hearing it on trailers etc. 28 Days Later - rubbish film but gonna have to get the soundtrack now!

Soupnazi you are my saviour!!

Thank you x
