Off TV, a gentleman
Think your second option suits him best. Never liked the man, but maybe he wouldn't like me either!!
But I don't think he should sue, he's had a good run with them.
He strikes me as a total buffoon
I don't like but then I don't know him, if he has been sacked because of his age then that is wrong.
Question Author
he says that he has, ch 4 says that its because they want a new image for their racing programs
He is a character and, like him or loathe him, he added humour to the programme
He probably had a contract for a fixed period of time. If it wasn't renewed where's his grounds for going to court?
Appearing on big brother and wife swap wouldn't have done his image much good. He came across as a filthy sexist pig.
both maybe? If he should have been dumped years ago, and hasn't changed, he could well argue the only reason they've doing it now is his age.
he doesn't do himself any favours.... but programmes are often reformatted and old presenters out and new in in order to attract more viewers, im not sure how he will prove its an age thing. i don't see him in terms of age though, in fact i never thought of him as old until now.
//ch 4 says that its because they want a new image for their racing programs //

Can't say I blame them.
I should add I think he's a clown who brought little to their racing coverage.
I see I'm a lone voice here (as I have been before). I admire the way he copes with his illness and his wife obviously adores him.
He's a contractor who's been lucky enough to have his contract renewed for the last 25? odd years. I don't see how he can really complain if this time they've decided not to. That's their prerogative.
What illness.?
A collection of hair, rings and funny hats displayed on a not very attractive animated mannequin with a rudimentary knowledge of tictac.

Maybe not the most attractive person, but if he was good at his job and the reason he was replaced was because Channel 4 had come up with a younger presenter Clare Balding, 41, then surely he has a case, ageism.

Incidentally why has Clare Balding got to appear on almost everything, Olympics, Crufts, Racing, Game Shows etc?
^ because of TV's obsession with gay presenters
When women were complaining of ageism did he say "People don't want to look at their wrinkly old faces. They want to look at young 'dolly birds'.
I honestly don't know but its in the back of my mind.
