hi, i know  the clapping song from the matalan ad is shirley ellis, but does anyone know of any cd that it might be on? most shirley ellis stuff i have searched for is discontinued. ta muchly

Yeah, I had an urge to find out who wrote the song today and looked it up. There is loads of info. on Shirley Ellis who sang "The Clapping Song" on this page:

"The Name Game" is a cool song also and also "The Nitty Gritty" - apparently this song put the term into common usage.

Unfortunatley I haven't turned up anything that I can buy yet, other than the US Amazon site. Have had to download it through filesharing, though would like to put some money in her pocket for her retirement by buying it!
