Hi, this is a brief and spontaneous survey asking for anyone's reaction after the first five days of the Subs.
Is it working? Do we like it? What are your fave subs.; Which would you change? What are we missing? What do we not need? How many paracetamol have you got through?

I don't think it works at all in most of the topics. I don't go into a lot of them. I used to go into travel, food & drink quite a lot but I can't be bothered now it is too
bothersome. I only really go on Q & P and don't go into the subs sections much. Sorry Ed but I don't like it any better after 5 days than I did on the first day.
it's mince!!!!!
I have to be honest & say that for quickness, I prefer the 'old' system.

Some sub-cat's are a good idea, but it can take ages sifting through them & I for one, just don't have the time!

Back to the washing up.....!
Put everything back the way it was. Which solicitor for repetitive strain clicky finger.
Ha, ha, oldwoman!

BTW, I meant 'trawling' rather than 'sifting'!

I'd been thinking about making the mince pies for Christmas!
I like them in B&S, music and arts and literature... and there's always the option of the main category.

I think there are too many in news and film and tv.

I want science to have it's own category. It should not be a sub-section.

I think it's cut down on a lot of the chatter and while I'm not all together happy about that I think that might have been the point.

(Sod the paracetamol... I am now on a caffine drip so I can stay awake for the ten hours it takes me to go through all the categories ;0) )

I like following new categories with their sub categories; Music,
Phrases and Sayings,
Food & Drink,
Film & TV
Family
I think I would prefer these without sub categories
Body and Soul,
News,
Society and Culture back as People and Places.
History with only two sub sections Genealogy and Myths and Legends
and as for the rest I dont really care.
must admit i would sooner have it without all the subs, - my faves Q&P, 2nd animals & nature,3rd home & garden, then just like scrolling through, haven't took any paracetamol yet but getting thro' the g&t's! :-)
Generally, I hate them, as most seem to have been created without any logic. Food & Drinks sub-cats in Food & Drink?!

The vast majority need binning.

And, I think it should work so that the main cat also shows all the sub-cat's Qs. So if you're just 'surfing, you go to the main cat and see everything, but if you wish to specialise, you go to the sub-cat.
I used to scroll down a section and find things that wouldn't normally expect to find that were of interest to me. Now I feel like I have to decide in advance what I am interested in.
I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.
It's SLOW, no-one's posting any interesting questions (and I don't mean chat) becuase it's vast and off putting.
IT'S DREADFUL and I'm spending less and less time on it because it's so irritating and no longer a "happening place".
Please leave the subs if you must, but make the general header a catagory whereby everything within all subs is displayed as someone else suggested earlier in the confusion.
You need bloody counselling after 1/2 an hour trying to find you way round this mess.
As it seems to have shut up the useless inane drival that was posted in B&S....so people can now get on with talking about real problems, it gets my vote
I am hardly spending any time on here at all now, and don't bother to check through many categories.

Such a shame, as I am sure many people are not getting the variety or extent of answers to their questions that they would have.
