Has anyone used the new Family Search.org website...I hate it!!
Cannot get to the Family Group Records
or Ancestral File results.
When you do find a name wanted you click...what do you get,a window telling you "Oops"

Oh for the old website,so much easier.
Can anyone tell me how to use the site.

the old one is still available:
http://www.familysear...I.asp&clear_form=true

the difference with the new one is the repertition of entries and also the addition of census records
the key to the research in the new site is to be as accurate with thr place name as possible, allow for varaiations to surname, go for a range of dates as opposed to the exact date and watch for the LDS member entries rather than the primary source material
I have used the new site with some success. The Ooops can be avoided if you just look at the preview by clicking on the tiny arrow in the right margin of the entry - the preview seems to contain the nitty gritty info anyway. When actually finding a marriage, there have been baptisms for that couple's offspring listed as well, which has saved a lot of time, but only of course if the info is there in the first place. I have taken to having two tabs on the go, one for each version.
If you know the area it is easier to follow. I found lots of other half's relatives living in Norfolk and also traced my gt gt grandad in cheshire parish records after years of research elsewhere.
Not all records are online yet, but if you know the area it is easier.
If you scoll down the page you will see at the end
it says go to previous site
