Hi Ed and Team

With reference to the mention by a couple of Mods - is it possible for us to have a 'confirm' facility when closing threads?

This will avoid the current ease with which we can accidentally close threads when using a mobile phone screen.

Thanks.

Thanks Ed - let's see how that goes.
Did you get a telepathic reply, Andy?
I assume once closed you cannot re open then?
This is AB's version of a seance.

TTT - Mods can close and re-open threads, only the ones they have actioned.
Andy, you know mods can reopen every closed thread
so if you accidentally close one, re open it.
TTT, if it is an accidental closure how is a mood to know?
Freud is alive and well! "mod" ^ ^
in the OP he says: "This will avoid the current ease with which we can accidentally close threads when using a mobile phone screen. "
There really is two big 'close this thread' buttons, one and the top and the other at the bottom. If I accidentally tap one I don't know I've done it.

Barry - Yes I know they can, but they are only supposed to re-open threads they have closed themselves, either in error, or for another reason.

As I mentioned, a Mod recently re-opened a thread to add a comment, and then closed it again, preventing a response.

This is abuse of privileges, and I would suggest that the Mod was probably privately advised of that fact.
// a Mod recently re-opened a thread to add a comment, and then closed it again, preventing a response. //

Why ?
So they could have the last word? Perhaps a yong inexperienced mod?

Gromit - // / a Mod recently re-opened a thread to add a comment, and then closed it again, preventing a response. //

Why ? //

I can only guess the person wanted the last word, but I don't know, and because the issue has been dealt with, I wouldn't wish to pursue it any further.
"Why?"

Power trip.

We cross-posted, but that seems a reasonable explanation.

From your perception - probably, from mine, I don't think so.
"So they could have the last word?"

Imagine that! A mod so paranoid they have to have the last word... :-)
