I have cancelled my Ocado order for delivery on the 22nd December. Bet somebody is in a crumpled heap sobbing with relief and joy :D

why, are you not celebrating - are you going away instead.

emmie, we decided to play it safely this year. I have a frozen turkey and goose in the freezer, Christmas pudding is made, mincemeat is at the ready for home made mince pies, the booze is waiting to be drunk and the other goodies stashed away.
All we need is fresh fruit and veg, milk and cream. I was struggling to make up the £90 minimum spend and resented paying an extra £10 for delivery when we already pay the monthly fee so we decided to do away with the expensive fresh turkey and other luxury items.

We usually work with a homeless charity during the winter months and we can't this year so we will make a donation instead.
can see why you cancelled the order, nice to be so organised.

Ocado?
Question Author
It's a sign of an over-anxious personality, emmie. We are worry guts :(
Question Author
Yes, piggynose, Ocado.
i shop with sainsburys and this is first year will be without family, so had to get order in in November.
Question Author
So are you all prepared, emmie?
mostly, though i won't know if i get all my order till it comes. Have sent gifts to family via amazon, and cards ready to post in the next week or so. Usually i am at family homes on the south coast but due to restrictions and other complications that won't happen
I was curious, as it was a new word 2 me. So according to google its the M&S website.
i thought Ocado were Waitrose?
Why not M&S.com or Waitrose.com?
Or am i missing something?
Question Author
Ocado seperated from Waitrose some months ago and joined up with M&S.
piggy, Ocado has been operating for 20 years as a delivery supermarket in its own right, then in 2010 it incorporated Waitrose and now M&S. They sell a lot of things M&S don't sell.

Very few people work in their warehouses, they use robots to pick and pack
Question Author
Ocado sells own brand as well as big brand names
ok, i get sainsburys because its easier for me. I don;t like to order more than a week in advance but the Christmas slots went on at November so have to choose what i need then
lets hope whoever got your slot is happy
Question Author
I'm sure they will be :)
i will amend my order im sure before the big day, shame that im not going to family, but perhaps next year
Question Author
emmie, I have had Tesco delivery every week since lockdown and will carry on with it, excellent service. I use Ocado for the little luxuries that are beyond Tesco but only when they are on offer
one must have some luxuries of course
