The whole front page in News is filled with questions from yesterday and this morning, which means many from yesterday, which people are still actively responding to, will shortly disappear on to page 2, and hence, become abandoned.

If you were to make ‘Politics’ a main heading, such questions would be split between the two. I don’t think many post questions in sub-categories because few people look at them.

Just an idea to keep the discussions flowing.

^^^^ that's, Erm logical mamya. If more People come to my local, it will get more customers.
apologies, i didn't realise there was a separate category for politics
Sorry if it was too simplistic.

Mamyalynne, They won't though because, for the reason I've given, questions posted there receive little response.

There you go. Emmie didn't know there is a Politics category. I think I rest my case.
Yes, people don't always fully explore.

Shame really.
I don't really get the 'news is cluttered' argument. AB is made up of many categories and most political arguments seem to be contained therein. I never have a problem joining in with or finding the most topical questions.

Zacs, //I don't really get the 'news is cluttered' argument. //

Some of yesterdays questions, which are still highly topical, are already relegated to page 2 and so after just one day the threads are effectively killed off. That's the cluttered argument.
If people are too disinterested to go to page 2/3/4 etc - then they aren't keen are they?

Not everything can stay on page 1 on a busy day.
I think most die a natural death. You post most of you're political posts in news. Maybe if you used the politics section more it wouldn't be so cluttered. Just a thought.

Zacs, I'd feel like Little Billy No Mates! ;o)

Anyway, I've said my bit. I think it will make the site better, that's all.
I just think most people realise it's unnecessary N. I'm your friend! Honest!

Hope that doesn't make you even more worried ;-)

Arrrrgh! ;o)
After the election the 'Politics' section will become a lot less used anyway!
A lot less used than one post from 25th May! Crikey.
Simple solution - use forum software that takes a thread to the top when it's posted to - like most other forums.
That would be 'latest posts' then.
As 'politics' is a sub heading of News any way I really do not see how it will make much difference.
Emmie didn't know there is a Politics category.

Neither does the party you're running election for... phew I feel safe.
Question Author
Arksided, I'm not running an election.

Eddie, //As 'politics' is a sub heading of News any way I really do not see how it will make much difference. //

It would no longer be a sub-section and that would make a big difference. It would be used constantly.
