Is It True That Mods Can Remove Their Own Posts?

I see a couple of ABers have referred to a mod removing his/her own posts. Is this allowed? And how would we know who had removed a post although I suppose it is highly unlikely one mod would remove the post of another mod. Just interested as if it's true it seems unfair to me. Any thoughts?

divebuddy - "Andy, Unless you are claiming to speak for all the Mods, you are just cluttering up this thread. You've made your opinion very clear, there really is no reason or need to keep relentlessly repeating it. Just let other people give their view."

It's not the House Of Commons divebuddy - I am not stopping other people from speaking.

I offer my opinion - as is my right. You are free to ignore it - as is yours.

If there is any 'cluttering' it is being done by you because you enjoy taking exception to the things I say, or the manner and frequency with which I say them.

Please feel free to ignore any and all of my posts at any time.
Coming on Answerbank, especially as a long term poster is exactly the same as playing in a football match, you participate in the knowledge that the referee's decision is final. If you don't accept that, you shouldn't be playing.

Gromit removed his anti police posts here (Posts 1 AND 3)

Here he explains why, I saw the post he removed and I didn't believe his explanation.

Hehe at baldric caught trying to be a sleuth!
I am always baffled as to why knowing who is a moderator is so important to some.
//shoota, The ex-cop wasn't you.//

Shame, the one thing I havn't managed to achieve in my life is notoriety.....

Not yet anyway.
power corrupts... I knew Vlad the Impaler when he was just a lowly Mod on AB, and now look at him...
Jordyboy9 - "as i have said before i dont believe in having members as moderators, power corrupts,"

It's hardly finger on the nuclear trigger is it?

"I have had many posts removed in the past and still dont know why, blind obedience has never been my thing"

There may be a message there.

I think the moderator system is shown to work, but as with anything else, you can't please everyone.

If you have serious reservations about the way your posts are deleted, then take it up with the Ed.
It matters not to me who is a Moderator and who isn't - one thing we all have access to is the 'report' button.

All forums have Moderators - to me it makes sense to have them as members too, who else would simply sit and stare at a site for hours unpaid?
'Twould depend on the quality of the avatars Mamy.....

Oh great, so now we're culprits, who abuse our power AND post too much?

And people wonder why some mods don't wish to be known as such, lol!
