Some of us who use Nexus tablets are experiencing virus problems from something apparently acquired on AB

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/AB-Editors-Blog/Question1450154.html

I'm using Chrome as a browser and I'm not going down the revert to factory settings route. Otherwise, can anyone help getting rid of the virus please?

Many thanks

I am getting the following message which stops the AB site from working. It appears in a rectangle box at the bottom left of my screen and id one line reading : waiting for delivery.platform.switchads.com.

Does anyone else have this or am I the only lucky one.?

Only on the AB site. Using a laptop and chrome.'
@SirOracle

Usually, you will barely be able to see messages flashing by in the lower left corner of your browser window but when your domestic/workplace network is slow, or your town's internet trunk is slow, or the entire country's internet is slow (eg 6pm-9pm peak) then the messages become slow enough to be visible.

That particular example makes it apparent that the Adserver has a problem. If you and it are on opposite sides of the Atlantic, for example. Our evening peak coincides with USA's lunchour, which can't be helping.
Thank you Hypognosis for your explanation. But why is it only on my AB site and not on any other site.?
Agree with sirorocle. Been thinking the same thing.
Thanks for your patience everyone. We're slowly getting to the bottom of it.
I think we've solved the problem for the weekend.

Please email us if you have any issues over the weekend, I will keep and eye on the inbox.
I've moved this to Ed's blog.

Your other favourite websites are obviously not using the problematic ad-server which is stopping your AB pages loading properly. If we knew what other sites they also serve, you could test and find those to be glitchy as well.

'It's not a virus, it's a really annoying ad' has the ED been watching 'Monty Python's Life of Brian' I wonder?

Thanks Ed

Meanwhile, anyone thinking of running a Malwarebytes scan on this (Just In Case), don't bother. There's an issue between it and Chrome that won't get MB past the send crash reports? question, which is still waiting for a fix/update from MB
"has the ED been watching 'Monty Python's Life of Brian' I wonder?"

Very good.

But this won't be a virus even if we do want to stick it to a cross :)
Editor, I am still getting this intrusive ad.
Question Author
Nope, no joy, still exactly as before
Is it a waste of time returning to factory settings?
