That the clock he was selling was made my a very famous company. He pointed to the name on the clock face - tempus fugit.

Have any experts told you a load of baloney?

Well I just had to Google those words, so yes, I'd have probably fallen for the codswallop.

Well, I say fallen, I might have believed 'em, but it doesn't necessarily mean it'd have swayed me into buying it.

Just recently I was negotiating a price on a lovely plate at an antiques fair and the seller said "of course its signed by the famous french designer " Le Pic". I didn't point out that the famous French designers name was actually on the reverse of the plate and "Le Pic" referred to the picture of a woodpecker on the front" LOL! I bought it though.

The same seller also told me that the 'lounge chair' was for sale. He meant, of course, chaise longue (long chair).

When I was younger my Barber would use a special "Lettuce spray" towards the end of the haircut to dampen the hair. Wonderful stuff.
