Dear all,(I'm in tears as I type this, with help from a dear friend.)

It is with deep sorrow that I have to tell you all that my sight is deteriorating at a great speed, I am finding it increasingly difficul to read an email from you, I do not want you to think I am ignoring you when I don't reply. It is soo frustrating that even with aids I have to give in to defeat.
My years of contact with you all have kept me ticking over through some bad and difficult times. I feel you have all been my friends and have helped me to cope. I really don't want to do this but its stressing me out too much.
My H has been my eyes & helped me a lot butI can'tcontinue like that

That is very sad, indeed.
oh Jem I am so sorry. I am going to report this to get your post edited to remove your good friend's real name. I don't mean any offence by doing so.
big hugs Jemima xxx
I'm sorry to hear of you situation.

Could you not try a voice programme, I believe Woodelf uses one? I am sure RNIB could help you.
Very sad indeed Jem.
Any mod, please do what is right here.
Hugs, jem, so sorry

Jem , that is so heartbreaking to read (I know where you are coming from and is my biggest fear too) try to get some more help - we would miss you such a lot. You brighten AB up on a daily basis and are so important to us.

Love

Mamya ♥
It's been put right Jem, don't worry about that.
sorry to hear that jem - could you try voice software?
I am so sad to hear this Jem I do hope you can find a way to stay with us.
Do get any help you can from the RNIB, please take care of yourself. xxx
Jem, if your computer is fairly recent you can use the built in voice recognition in Windows to control your computer and to produce text. Go to the help menu and take from there, I've had a look at it on my desktop, it seems to be straightforward. I think it also converts text to speech.Good luck with it, we will miss you so give it a go.
Hi Jemisa how heartbreaking it must be for you to even report this on AB you have so obviously enjoyed so much,my heart goes out to you,my own father suffered this affliction also so I know how difficult it can be,good luck.
Hi Jem,

This is sad news which I am sorry to hear.

If you feel you have to leave us, then we all wish you well. But there is a way to continue using the web without sight - some of which I don't know if you have tried....

Woodelf, a long time contributor to these pages uses something called "Thunder Screen Reader"

You can download it directly here: http://www.webbie.org.uk/thunder/ThunderStorm-Installer.exe

(The download should start straight away)

Thunder Screen Reader reads out the content of a webpage. Woodelf directs his Thunder browser to:

http://m.theanswerbank.co.uk/

Because it has less clutter for the screen reader to read.

This might be the place to start.

While we are not experts there are many of us who will do our best to help you get this kind of thing set up if you wish.

All the best,

Ed & Team.
biggest cuddles for you jem xxxxxxxx

Good luck Jem, It would be nice if you can find a new system that'll
work for you.
sorry to hear this, Jemisa (especially as my own eyes are fading a bit); maybe you'll be able to find a system that works for you.
I am so sorry to hear of your situation Jemisa, and I do feel for you xx
I'm not sure if it is RNIB or someone else but there are charities that will come to your home to configure your computer for those with sight issues. I would assume they will take their clients onto voice activated systems when it is necessary.

Perhaps your GP, nurse, optician whatever healthcare/support services you use could advise you.
This is the RNIB site, have a look at the link, I hope it helps.
