Artist Simon Beck created these amazing patterns just by walking in the snow. I thought that some of you ABers might like to see his work.

Nooo - he's a front man for the Aliens from Planet Zarg :)

< very good though >
what an amazing thing to do, they are so beautiful
Question Author
Curses, sunny-dave! You've blown his cover!
How do they get them so symmetrical ?
Absolutely beautiful.
Wow, very clever. I feel cold just looking at them.
Question Author
Yes, shooty, that's puzzled me, also. The artist must surely use some kind of navigational aid, don't you think?
I thought them pretty dam good. I didn't quite understand the negativity of some of the posted comments at the bottom of the page tho'. No need for that at all.
Fabulous.
Beautiful, glorious, stunning........patchwork tumbling blocks and fine crochet in the snow! Unbelievable....I could stare at them for ages.
Thanks for posting.
I have not got the foggiest bookbinder, to be honest. I couldn't draw that symmetrical on a A4 page..

I'm pleased that you all like the photos. And, Dicky, I don't understand some of those comments, either. I reckon some people feel a bit envious because they can't turn out something as artistic and good as Simon Beck can.
I used to do things like that. Mind you it was on a piece of paper using a spirograph. Hmm, maybe not similar at all, on reflection
Question Author
If Simon Beck did these patterns with a Spirograph, he'd have a problem getting it back in the box when he'd finished, and then shoving it all back in the toy cupboard!
they are brilliant.

the article does explain that he uses an orienteering compass.
Question Author
I also have an orienteering compass, excelsior-1, but I don't think that I could maintain a regular pattern of walking just with that. He's got something else up his sleeve, I'll bet.
They really are quite spectacular. Thanks for posting, bookbinder,,

You're welcome, LazyGun. It's nice to occasionally see something that isn't rude, or political, or controversial, I think!
Absolutely stunning. I marvel at the mind that can both create these...and then execute them so faultlessly. Thank you for posting.
There you go folks - the mystery of the crop circles has been solved
Wow, fantastic what an acheivement and wonderful photography.
