Och aye, hoots mon... and all other things that Scots NEVER say . Well, maybe in Braveheart !
I think Burns night is a lovely tradition and the one time I went to a supper I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Well, apart from the haggis which reminded me of peppered sawdust...sorry to all Scots

Sorry about that Mrs O, you had a bad experience of The Haggis. There are some really awful ones around especially at around Burns Night. Try one again another time. You may change your mind. They're LOVELY and very tasty and yumsy. I'm a veggie now so all I ever have are the veggie ones and they too, are fab.
i'm not Scottish but if I have porridge for brekkie and mashed with evening meal and a few glasses of scottish fluid. will that do?

We had Haggis, neeps and tatties last night,

My Wife is a Scot, (MacDonald) so we always fit it in somewhere.
My wee brother is Scottish and lives in Nottingham. He has bee there for nearly twenty years. Poor soul doesn't have a cat or dog - only human kittens.

Mrs O if you bought your haggis from a buchers rather than a Supermarket, I think you would probably enjoy it more. Every bucher has it's own recipe
and usually uses natural skin rather that plastic. I find that the recipe I prefer to cook my haggis is as follows. Put an inch of water in a meat tin and place the haggis wrapped tightly in foil into the tin. Oven temp at 180c for a 11b haggis and cook for an hour a 11b. The result is a nice moist haggis and the haggis usually comes clean out of the skin. I don't have to wait for Burns night I have haggis when I feel like it.

I love proper burns night suppers that is of course when they have the Imortal memory, the Toast to the lassies and the laddies response to it afterwards .
