We are regular eaters of John West canned Sardines in tomato sauce for breakfast, A couple of weeks ago I noticed one of the tins had hardly any fish in the can .I weighed the fish at 40gramms when it should be 62gramms ,I rang John West to complain,they thanked me for ringing and asked for details printed on the can which I duly gave. Yesterday I received a cheque for £10 from John West and a thank you letter.Well done JW.

in a similar vain.

some years ago, i got a can of diet pepsi out of a vending machine ..
.. it was empty, although the ring-pull was intact.

i sent it to britvic with a note, telling them that i was not complaining - just letting them know about it (and would they please send it back to m, as i'd keep it for curiosity value)

they not only sent it back - but gave me vouchers to the value of half a dozen more cans, to be redeemed at my local shops.

I too have been a victim of rip off Britain. I went into a pub, ordered a cottage pie and when it came there was not a trace of a cottage in it at all.

Have I got grounds for complaint?
