My Carakeel finds it a little objectionable when I say " I could eat a scabby monkey raw" when im hungry.

I usually describe a dark place as "dark as a cows guts"

Being a country type, i tend to use quite a few sayings I think, however they don't all spring to mind at the moment.

Oh! Patience is a virtue, possess it if you can, never found in a woman, seldom in a man.

Being both an aviator and livestock raiser I find the following most apropos (have no idea of their origins)...
When it's raining exceptionally hard it's "Like a cow peeing (choose your own verb) on a flat rock"... or when flying an ill designed airplane it's said to have "... all the aerodynamic characteristics of a man-hole cover"...

And you clanad. Just seen a comment on our works website about the plans for the new airbus being unveiled (the outa space one). They are going to unveil them at the Paris airshow but the implication was that they are trying to detract from the publicity surrounding the B747 8 that touched down in Europe for the first time yesterday.
