I have moved into a house that is about 50 years old.  When the heating comes on, the pipes all round the house make very loud clanking banging noises.  Is this something I should be...

How do I find out the make, model and age of the back boiler in the house I have just moved into? It is behind my gas fire and the previous owners left me no information.
