Recording voice onto CD

I want to record my voice onto CD as part of some revision I have to do. I have a microphone but was wondering how I do it and what software I need. I want to do it on the cheap (free downloads etc)....

How do I record my voice to CD?

To aid my revision I would like to be able to record my voice onto CD. Is it possible? I am sure there is some software I could buy but I want to do it on the cheap!
