Sound problem

I am able to speak & hear conversations using Voip (using a headset) but nothing at all via skype. I have deleted skype and re-installed, but still the same. Anyone out there got an answer for me...

Power saving in Windows XP Pro SP3

I can get the screensaver to cut in after a pre-set time (i.e. 5 mins) but no matter what length of time I set to shut monitor down it will not work...Also the closing of the lid does nothing...
