How easy is it to find a job in USA if your English?

I want to work in USA as my boyfriend lives there, but i dont know how to search or where to search out jobs that support work permits for foreigners. I know u cant just get a work permit like...

once u get a green card, does it mean u have to move to america immediately

im from england my boyfriend has received his green card and intends on moving there in couple of weeks, but does he have to go.......just out of curiousity ??
