Flat screen

My lcd computer screen has just started making soft hissing noises. It's just over a year old (out of waranty) has this happened to anyone else, can it be fixed?

Hungry Horace, Space Invaders, Galaxian, Asteroids, Fruity Frank. These were mere 8 bit games but addictive and popular. How come now, with 32bit and multitasking, we can't get these games on Windows...
