Preparing for cataract surgery

Has anyone been told they could not wear contacts for at least a week before being measured for cataract surgery and several weeks before the surgery? why would this make a difference?

Cataract surgery complications

I had cataract surgery then Yag laser surgery. I now have blurry vision and see double at times. Could this be from some kind of complication that is common after the surgery?
