Sky+HD connection

We've had Sky+ for a few years - very worthwhile. But today got Sky+ HD. The bloody thing is only connected now thru the hdmi socket on the tv. I cant get my beloved new tv to get channels thru hdmi....

I'm thinking of taking advantage of the SKY offer of a HD+ box for ?75 but I only have a digital television. I am connected to SKY but only have a standard box. Do I need an HD Tv?? Many thanks in...
