B&W war film

Hi. Can anyone shed any light on an old b&w film, set in North Africa which at one point near the beginning (I think) sees a jeep racing along a desert road to a rousing rendition of Lilliburlero?...

This could be tough as my details are sketchy... A week or so ago on TV there was an American music award show. I only caught the last few minutes, but there was a group playing the final performance....
