Highlight Words Into Searchbar

How can I blue highlight across words with the cursor to make them automatically show in the search bar with firefox? (used to do it with ie)....

This Page Cannot Be Displayed

all the time now I'm getting "this page cannot be displayed / fix connection problems / close the troubleshooter" popping up (windows ie), despite a new router. Help and simplistic advice please....
