My hair is dead straight but i curl it with ghd's, i just need something to hold the curls. I find stuff you put on before curling doesnt really do much, so need a holding spray that doesn't go crispy. Any suggestions? Or any tips on any other ways to get my hair curly or wavy?!

How do you make your hair curl with GHD's? I have tried but just end up with a really pathetic kind of kink! What's the trick?

As for making it stay, have you tried mousse before? Or do it on hair that was washed a day or two before which makes it less slinky.

Another way my hair goes a bit curly is to wet the bottom half, then scrunch it with gel, then spray but you say your hair is naturally dead straight so it may not work. Heated rollers are good too, but it can look a bit formal.

use sivrikin curl spray, especially for curls. It hold the bounce but don't go crispy

I'm with Hannah. I want to know how to curl with ghd's too!

I was going to ask the exact same question about how to hold the curls!!

It's easy when you get the knack - start at the top with a small section of hair as if you were going to straighten it, then slowly slide the GHDs down the section of hair keeping them turning all the time. Don't try and leave your hair wrapped round them, do it as if you were straightening it but twizzle the straighteners round!

Thank you Quickstep! I'm going to try it this weekend!

Can I recommend Tigi's Hard Head Hairspray or the Power Trip hair gel for holding the look, Glitters?

Good luck - it does take a lot of practice! I find it easier to curl other people's hair with them than my own. I have to get my sister to help me do the back. The key is to keep the straighteners moving - don't stop mid way and then you should get a nice round even ringlet.

And forgot to say I'm def gonna try out all those products cos I am desperate to get my curls to stay in! I spend all that time doing them then they drop out after about an hour! So thanks for your help everyone.
