Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

As ever with Schadenfreude, a great pleasure to solve. I had to backtrack to find a few missing missing letters, though. I wonder whether this was one that was rejected by CAM as too easy (or perhaps the CAM crosswords were rejected from the Listener as too hard).

Thanks, perseverer. I understand the reference ... I just thought there must be a better word for the title. One of the contributers to this very thread has an apposite name !!!

My first post here - thoroughly enjoyed demolition but needed wiki to get to PDM. Guess I should have had a classical education...

Not sure about the discussion of 27d above. To me the clue obviously only works with the word 'Spanish' in, in fact it doesn't work at all without it. We must be parsing the clue differently.

Ianmoose - There is a (to me) better known synonym in another language which is one letter longer that still satisfies the clue.

I confess that, nearly a week later, I'm still struggling with the second element of that wordplay. Think it's very likely I have the correct answer, but it has been bothering me a little. No matter.
