Had a man out for a quote for a new garage door. We had discussed it over the phone and was quoted upwards of £1400 for what I want.

He had a look and told me to tart the existing door up as I wouldn't be able to buy anything better than what I have.

Makes a change :)

Is he going to tart it up for you, or have you got to do it, Hc?

I'll do it, my wife says. Apparently all I need is a bit of wire wool, paint and a new handle.

*sigh*
doesn't matter if it ends up looking a bit distressed, just tell everyone it's a 16th century garage and you're not allowed to modernise it properly.

More like 1960s :(

It will be a 1960s with a bodge job garage if I don't get my act together
