would any of you out there recommend Google Chrome as a browser. A lot of stuff is sticking when we use Mozilla nowadays, but GC seems to make things a lot faster. Any thoughts? OH has changed the browser on his laptop from Moz to GC, but I wanted to hear some other thoughts before taking the plunge and get him to change the browser. Interestingly, I was trying to check in for a Ryanair flight last night and the Ryanair site wouldn't work on Mozilla, but when I did the process on OH's laptop using Google Chrome, it was fine.

Hope you can help, cheers, Chox.

I've had lots of firefox problems recently but had even more using chrome, so I wouldn't recommend it.
However I think at least half the problem is the windows 7 OS on that particular machine - Firefox is much quicker on my linux machines and doesn't seem to hang, and chrome works fine on my android devices.

Oh, that's really interesting. GC seems to be fine on OH's laptop, perhaps I will give it a go on the desktop and it can always be changed back if not very good. Sounds like a bit of a curate's egg- good in parts! cheers, chox.
I happily use GC without problems on all my machines. I used to be big FF fan but it was very resource hungry and I do think that GC is the much faster and more stable browser.

There are others, of course. Opera is good, Maxthon is worth a try.

Many thanks, not going to do anything till we get back from our trip in about a fortnight. but will also have another go on OH's laptop, to see how I like the way it's laid out. Not that keen on changing things, but I will obviously have to bite the bullet eventually! Thanks again everyone. Chox.
It's not a major change. You can have as many different browsers as you like and use them or not use them. You will not be losing FF if you download GC.
I had probs with Firefox & G Chrome & Thunderbird & Chris ( Buenchico) recommended Mozilla Seamonkey which I have been using for ages find very good.

No way would I give any Computer/laptop etc. any room for Google Chrome. It's far too invasive and will obtain all sorts of information from your equipment and leave you wondering such things as 'How did that firm get my E/mail address'.

Any one of the following Browsers; except GC.:-

You know something, Hans, I get VERY little spam and junk mail even though all my email addresses go through GMail, even my blueyonder ones.
An example of Google being devious is in 'related questions' below and is illustrated in a previous posting of mine :-

Hans.

The only problem I have with CHROME is I cannot access my BT Yahoo emails through it....I use Firefox for that.
I can access Yahoo via Chrome no bother.
Jack....I know some people can but when I try, I can see the emails in my inbox, but I can't do anything with them. I have tried to find out what the problem is but Yahoo nor CHROME seem to know how to cure it. Anyway, using Firefox isn't a problem.
I love Chrome.
