Not sure where to post this, so I have put it here as most people will see it.

I have a flea problem in my house. I have tried the various flea sprays, on the carpets, curtains, etc. But I am thinking of trying one of the "room foggers"

Does anyone have any experience of using one of these ? Are they effective, and does it leave a nasty sticky residue on everything ?

mikey. We have a blue Merle Bearded Collie cross hairy hound. 'She who must be obeyed' swears by Spot On' and the first thing she does every new year' is mark a new calendar for the 3 monthly treatment. We have been lucky thank heaven, or she would swear it was me who gave the dog fleas and, make me have the treatment as well. It is not cheap. But cheaper than refurbing the whole house. Don't even ask about the worming tablets .
Err mikey just thought. Do you carry the dog in your car? Treating the house and not the car as well is not going to do it.
Spend your money and get it done properly, mikey. You need to get rid of every flea.
R.I.P. does the job perfectly well and you can do the car and anywhere else your dog goes as well as your home. Lift all cushions off furniture and take seats up and spray. Do carpets, curtains, everywhere, beds as well. Cracks in floorboards are a good hiding place for fleas. It costs less than £20, will last ages, does the job very well as long as you do it properly. No need for anything else.

Read the reviews...it works!
As an Ex pest controller, I would suggest getting the place treated professionally, it often work out cheaper.

There are a lot of flea products on the market, 99% are totally useless!

The smoke bombs/foggers are good if you can get the professional use ones, however, they only work in conjunction with a flea spray treatment. Smokes/foggers will only kill live active fleas, it will not affect un-hatched eggs as the smoke leaves no lasting residue.

Also the products that the pest control industry use is far more affective on fleas but less toxic to humans.
What about furniture, Ratter, do you have to move it all?
We put a little garlic granules in our dogs food every other day, we have three very large hounds with quite long coats and we have never seen a flea on any of them.
Yes ummmm, every single inch of carpet needs to be sprayed in every room! if it isnt done properly you will need to do it all over again when it fails, this is why it is usually cheaper to get it done professionally in the first place. Even pest controllers often struggle to control fleas, at least most pest controllers guarantee their work.
That's a hard task.
If there are hard based heavy pieces of furniture where there is no way a flea could get underneath, then leave it be! apart from that, the floor need to cleared, including all the carp that accumulates under beds etc.
Just had a look on my Council's website - they charge £91.35 + VAT for fleas and state that "this includes one treatment and any additional materials will be charged accordingly".
Pasta is right. RIP works. Took me 10 minutes max. No need to spend all that money.
