I'm looking at a dress with a fitted bodice and a fullish skirt that will come to just below the knee.

Could I wear it with a swing jacket that falls just beyond my waist or are swing jackets better suited to shift dresses?

I don't want to look like a cube!

That made me laugh :-)
You can pick one up on the market for next to nothing, most have an attached hood too although it might flatten your hairdo. Maybe one of those plastic concertina rain hoods would be better ;o)

I daren't ask about shoes......I can just see the image of me in a frock, Kagoul with the hood up and knotted under my chin wearing Crocs.

Am I the only one who regrets their posts at times :-/

Ok, I'll stop now....

Double Hurrumph!!!

can you still buy those hoods???
You can get clear plastic rain bonnets with coloured edging, I'm sure you'd find one to match your kagool.
You can buy those rain hoods at all Hair salons that cater for older ladies.....what colour are the crocs?

Oh great I can now see myself at this function in my Kagoul, crocs and frock with my hold ups wrinkling around my ankles munching on a spam sandwich courtesy of Keith.

God, I hope there are no photographs taken :-(
