True ich, amazing really or could it be that it was noticed but just shrugged off as of little consequence?

Well no one knows do they. Which is why it is hard to comment properly other than to say that the punishment is rather odd

TCL, a fair point. I've just read from another source that officials were desperately trying to remove it during half-time.

It was likely to have been done 24-48 hours before the match according to the article.
