We renewed our Norton protection. We are now getting a pop-up saying:

Your Chrome browser is not protected! The Norton Chrome extensions are not enabled.

And an Install Now button.

Is this okay to install?

Have you tried clicking on your norton logo and open up the bit that says "account"
This might give you a hint as it should tell you how many days of cover you have left on your account ?

We just renewed. We have nearly a year left.
So that would suggest you're covered .... Not sure about the pop up !!
Mine just updates automatically.......

Okay thanks. I was a bit wary of this popup, having just renewed I can't work out why it would be saying anything isn't covered.
The only pop up I get from Norton Backdrifter is a monthly report...!!
The only thing I can suggest Backdrifter is when you right click the Norton logo and click open, it immediately tells you if your pc is covered for everything, and if it's not it has a "fix this" box which solves the problem. Other than that Backdrifter i'm not sure I can be of much more help.
As an aside could I draw your attention to the number of Chrome related faults there are regularly reported on several forums I visit. I use Firefox with the adblockplus and yahoo advert blocker addons installed and get no problems at all - I use the pretty much blank google.co.uk search page.
