Eagle baby hatches ????

I took this picture at 12.30am our time of Ezzy changing position. It also gives a clear picture of the eggs, but no chick.

In the Forum it says a chick hatched at 9.30pm our time so there seems to be a bit of confusion. Understandable as we're all in a bit of a state just waiting for 'our babes' to show themselves.

yes Cetti, it's going to be so poignant seeing a new day dawn for them........you'd have to be made of stone to not feel for these amazing birds....makes you wonder whether they feel sadness doesn't it?

Hi everyone. I wish we knew for certain. It is heart-wrenching watching them work so hard and take such good care of these eggs. I am still going to keep watching and hoping though. The second egg is only just slightly overdue, and they said that last year the eggs were a few days late too. ..

Only one egg left...
oh thanks for that estie - I just caught him/her settling down & wasn't sure.....
oooh that was clear but so hard to tell what that mark on the egg is.....

She's doing an awful lot of rocking on the remaining egg, isn't she? I wonder if it's to stimulate the chick into action......?

Wouldn't it be the best news if it was........???

A little verse for all:

The Eagle (A Fragment )
by Alfred, Lord Tennyson

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring'd with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

I've posted it on the other threads too just in case!

It's over :`-(

Yes how very sad.

I've just posted what I've just seen on here - goodnight all.

oh that's so sad, what a dreadful shame....how awful when they'd clearly given it their all.
Since the format of the cam changed I haven't been able to see them so often but I did see the egg yesterday & I've kept my eye on the google news in the hope that it would be good.

It's been a privilege to watch them & thank you Cetti for telling us.
