I have just installed 6ft bamboo screening against my 4ft & 5ft fence. My neighbour quite obviously hates it (as it blocks her view of my garden) and asked if she could paint it. We agreed. She has since painted her side (dark green), but hasn't actually taken any consideration in doing this and has got paint on our side of the bamboo, as well as getting it on my brand new garden furniture. It is a case of her painting her side rather sloppily and then us having to wash down our side. Hopefully this won't turn into a nasty dispute, but as it's our fence that the screen is tacked to, am I right to say that she can only paint the screen with our permission and if she asked for us to take it down we could refuse???

u should be ok aslong as the fence the bamboo is on is on your property and not infringing on her grounds.
mandie is right. If the fence is within your boundary then your neighbour can't touch it and has no say in the matter. For obvious reasons though you want to keep things amicable with your neighbour so if she is unrelenting then you may wish to find out why and see if you can reach a mutual solution.
